The Women Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (WCCIMA) has launched its “10 Million Economic Trees” initiative at the Government House, Kano State, in partnership with the NACCIMA Youth Entrepreneurs (NYE).
The initiative is a joint national effort. WCCIMA and NYE are each working towards planting 10 million trees, bringing the combined target to 20 million trees across Nigeria. Kano State hosted the official launch, and the planting is now being rolled out in other states.
What the initiative is focused on
- Economic empowerment: creating income streams for women and youth, with tree-based agriculture providing consistent and sustainable earnings.
- Industrial growth: supplying raw materials to Nigeria’s industries, so they can depend on a reliable local source.
- Export development: boosting high-value agricultural exports and equipping women to take a leading role in global trade.
With this initiative, WCCIMA is doing more than planting trees. It is cultivating prosperity and industrial independence for women, young people and communities across the country.
